The conditions are amazing in Val d'Isère at the moment. After about a month of snow we are now predicted sun for the next week. Perfect skiing conditions. I would imagine now with the conditions changing the injuries will change. There will probably be less ligament injuries as the pistes are more smooth rather than there being bumps and powder. There wil most likely be more broken bones as now the visibility is back people tend to go faster!
One bit of advice for people who are doing a season here. I would recommend trying to do a bit of cross training. People that just ski and do no other sport all season tend to have more injuries. It is really important to try and use different muscles . I really recommend trying to do some climbing. Climbing really helps to stretch out your body unlike skiing where you are in a flexed position. The climbing wall at the aqua sportive center is excellent. If you would like more information on cross training do not hesitate to contact me.
