How to fall to help prevent an Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury.


When you injury your ACL it is due to hyperextension and rotational forces to the knee most often caused due to a fall or landing incorrectly from a jump. Here are a few tips to try and avoid the dreaded ACL injury!

When Falling try to do the following:

•Keep your arms forward and hands over the skis

•Fall forwards or sideways

•Keep your feet together / in the air

•Bend your knees during the fall

•Do not try to sit down after losing control

•Do not try to get up until you have stopped sliding (unless it is to avoid obstacle)

•Land jumps on both skis with knees flexed
